INTROS is an innovative, multidisciplinary and multisectoral project to respond to the unmet need associated with inadequate skin disinfection and wound infections

Specifically, the project will implement three parallel lines of work addressing the development and study of preventive, therapeutic, diagnostic and regenerative advanced approaches to tackle specifically skin burns and surgical wound complications such as infection. The interdisciplinary INTROS project combines industrial and academic partners with broad expertise ranging from chemistry, medicine, pharmaceutical technology, pre-clinical models, product and process development, material science, production, entrepreneurship and economics to provide an outstanding environment to nurture the research skills, innovative mindset and creativity of 8 recruited Doctoral Candidates (DCs).

The contribution of five industrial partners with complementary expertise and knowledge provides a unique training opportunity to enhance the DCs` future career perspectives and employability by bridging the two driving RDI realities: academia and industry.

The consortium brings together leading academic and non-academic organizations, each recognized for their expertise in their respective fields, to work collaboratively in providing the recruited doctoral candidate with uniquely multidisciplinary and multisectoral environment conducive to professional growth and academic excellence. This consortium draws upon a broad spectrum of collective expertise, encompassing areas such as medicine and medical devices, advanced manufacturing, pharmacy, chemistry, quality control, biology and biotechnology and material science and related disciplines. The recruited DCs benefit from an extensive array of multidisciplinary training programs and workshops, covering both technical and transferable skills, designed to enhance their employability and facilitate long-term career development. Throughout the project’s
implementation, the participating organizations will collectively contribute their specialized knowledge, offering  continuous mentorship and guidance to the candidate. Simultaneously, these organizations will leverage the project to further strengthen and expand their ongoing collaborations, fostering new opportunities for innovation and future strategic exploitation.
